PIADINA CONES WITH PIZZA-STYLE FILLING

INGREDIENTS

Servings: 6 cones

  • 3 Fresco Piada USA Piadina Oil
  • 14 oz canned tomato pulp
  • 9 oz grated mozzarella cheese
  • 7 oz cooked ham, diced
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Prepare the Piadina Cones

  • Cut each piadina in half.
  • Roll each half into a cone shape and secure with a toothpick.
  • Place them upside down on a baking sheet and lightly brush with olive oil.

Step 2: Pre-bake the Cones

  • Preheat the oven to 356°F.
  • Bake the cones for 10 minutes, or until slightly crispy.

Step 3: Make the Filling

  • In a bowl, mix the tomato pulp with olive oil, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add the diced ham and grated mozzarella, stirring well to combine.

Step 4: Fill and Bake Again

  • Remove the cones from the oven and take out the toothpicks.
  • Fill each cone with the prepared mixture.
  • Place the filled cones upright in a high-sided baking dish to keep them standing.

Step 5: Final Baking

  • Bake for another 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
